The Research

Science Projects Procedure You will want to
list and determine how the science project will proceed and how you plan
to do all the steps in the experiment.
The project should
have only a variable so you change one condition in the experiment.
Now I like to do more than one but I do one condition at a time
and after results have occurred I sometimes test for something else.
This makes my project more complex but unique.
You need to think
about your project before you do it.
If you are checking
the rate at which seeds sprout you can change the temperature that they
are stored before you plant them and make sure they all the the same
soil, the same containers, the same place so the lighting is the same
and the same amount and temperature of water. If you do too many things at once such as give one plant no water and another a lot of water and one plant no light and one all light you will not be able to accurately test if plants grow without water or was it the light that was the problem. Do you see this. If you want to test for both light and water then do the water test and when completed and determine one plant died with no water then do the light experiment. They are different can be incorporated if your hypothesis supports both of them. You need to know or
determine how long this science project will take to complete before you
start and do a lot of work and it is no were finished and now it is due.
Make sure the conditions are also right for doing your
experiment. If you are
testing to see if plants live in hot weather and it is winter you will
have problems with your science projects. Also think about the
size and area needed for your science project topic.
Do you have enough room and will the area you have to display at
school have enough facilities and room.
Do you have the correct materials or know where to get them. When you have this
figures out write down everything you are going to do one by one.
This way you can follow them and if something goes wrong you can
do the experiment over again using the same steps as the last one.
This is good in case you do the experiment at home and then also
have to do it at school or the science fair.
